1 onion diced
2 c dried Great Northern Beans (unsoaked)
2 c water
1 c Apple Cider (not vinegar)
1/2 c ketchup
1/4 c pure maple syrup
2 tsp liquid smoke
1 tsp mustard powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
Cook onions on saute setting, then dump everything else into the pot, hit the beans/chili button, and cook for 2.5 hours. Let release naturally (if goes past 20 minutes, quick release the rest - mine only took 10 minutes to NPR).
If you need to thicken it up, simmer for a few minutes on saute setting.
